“Record” is an anglicism derived from the Latin word “Recordari” which, in turn, is formed by the intensive prefix “re” and the word “cor” heart. Something that passes through the heart again. If the cultural industry were to make use of the noble etymology of what is recorded to last, the meaning that is most attached to that of a “recording”, is very similar to the simple proposal that has been developing in Luis María Drago 236: the house that beats, that remembers.
This Friday October 27th, on a night that we predict will be full of magic, the complicity of the girls of “Hija de Tigre” (Tiger’s Daughter) will lead to the relaunch of “Brandon Records”: another face of the necessary refuge that is Casa Brandon for the LGBTIQ+ community. The project is based on the collaborative concept of the artistic work that characterizes Brandon, a vision of community that feeds back on offers and counteroffers of good.
In this sense, and on the basis of new equipment, the Casita aims to offer emerging artistic initiatives an alternative for making their material visible, disseminating it and multiplying it; avoiding the well-known heteropatriarchal system that makes up the formal circuits of recording studios. Resources at the service of art and not the other way around. If the non-hegemonic proposals need quality material to promote themselves, then Casa Brandon will seek, with sustained effort, resources and ideas to make them available.
If what is good, when brief, is twice as good, Brandon Records wants to produce epitomes of the presentations that are made at night in the house. An express and accessible alternative for artists to keep a raw sound record of their total live performance, five edited and mastered songs and an audiovisual record of a song.
The aim is to implement the idea of casaBrandon as a content producer and, at the same time, to collaborate with the material for digital media that is so necessary for artists who want to promote themselves in these times. Under this same premise, it will also be possible to agree on other packages outside the live presentations: audio only, audio + video, and audio + video + ambience are the three alternatives that will be available from this October 27th.
